Welcome Letter!
Dear Oley Valley Family,
I hope this letter finds you in good health, relaxed, and rejuvenated for a great year at OVHS. My name is Gina Finnerty and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Oley Valley High School. I am humbled to have been selected to join the Oley Valley School District team. I appreciate those who have stopped in to introduce yourselves and those of whom I have met by happenstance! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and learn more about the rich traditions and history of OVHS.
I also look forward to a positive and productive relationship with you to continue to build a wonderful atmosphere at OVHS and to promote a safe and welcoming environment for our students where they can grow and learn.
For over 23 years, I have worked as a teacher, administrator, and most importantly, a child advocate. After serving nine years as an assistant principal at Easton Area High School and middle school, I became the principal of North Middle School in the Pennridge School District in 2010. After four years as a middle school principal, I became the high school principal in 2014 and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Through my tenure as a school administrator and child advocate, I have facilitated professional development, parent workshops, and initiated many programs to support students academically, behaviorally, and socially.
But my greatest achievement comes not professionally, but personally, as I am a proud mother of an amazing son, Anthony, who attends the University of Delaware.
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced
and learned with me to this incredible community. I look forward to getting to know you, working with you, and providing our students with many opportunities to help them find their purpose and be successful.
Sincerely,
Gina
Opportunity to Meet and Greet!
As the start of school is quickly approaching, I invite you to meet with me and Sean to discuss successes, your hopes, and dreams for our future, and what steps we can take together to make OVHS even better. If you are able to attend, this will be an informal conversation so there is no need to prepare or bring anything. I understand some of you may be on vacation during this time so if you can’t make it, we can meet at another time. Your family and personal time come first.
Tuesday, August 6th from 12 pm -2 pm in the school library
