The Central Bucks School District is committed to providing the safest possible environment for its students and staff. To maintain a safe learning environment, we constantly work with state and local police to learn and implement best practices in school safety and security.
Each month we conduct fire drills and throughout the year we conduct other emergency drills. Next week we will be conducting a school security drill. What does this look like for our elementary students? On Wednesday, November 10, we will make an announcement to the students and staff that we will be conducting a drill to lockdown our building. During the drill, staff will discuss safety with students such as active listening to adults during drills and be prepared to make on the spot decisions. The Warrington Police Department has been notified of our drill, and we may have officers in attendance to help us with our security practices.
Please reach out to me with any questions.
Thank you for your constant support!

From the Desk of Mr. Murtha
While the upcoming Hannukah Holiday (Nov. 28-Dec. 6 this year) is probably the more widely known Festival of Lights in these parts, we just observed another Festival of Lights celebrated by a number of world religions yesterday with a day off from school – Diwali! While I will not profess to be a Diwali expert, a major theme of the holiday involves the victory of light over dark/good over evil, which are themes I think we can all get behind as a Mill Creek and World Community. Diwali is widely celebrated in India, and some of the celebration involves lighting lanterns and/or lamps and the wearing of beautiful/colorful clothing.
In celebration of and learning about Diwali, Ms. Davis' PEN students conducted some classroom presentations to Kindergarten and 2nd Grade classrooms, which involved sharing facts about Diwali, coloring Rangoli art (which is often displayed during Diwali), and learning a Diwali dance. Huge thanks to our PEN students and Ms. Davis... our younger students very much enjoyed learning about Diwali!
So, please join me in wishing our school and community members who celebrate Diwali a prosperous holiday!
Additionally, let us all contribute to the “light” of the world and our community - the Mill Creek Community is one that shines brightly!
Have a wonderful day and weekend!
