#CelebrateMonday
December 11, 2017
Sometimes I feel like the things that need my attention (and energy, and brain, and heart) need far more than I have the capacity to give.
It's especially important for me, during the times when I begin to feel defeated by all of those things, that I take a moment to breathe and to lean on those around me. It is imperative for the staff and students we serve that we finish out this semester strong!
We don't have to let the weight of these last few days weigh us down! We do not have to be stoic leaders! We do not have to behave a manner that we THINK the world expects from us!
The world is more fun and it is so much better if we challenge the status quo a little bit and engage in the unexpected! It will lighten our hearts and brighten the days of others.
And it can be simple! Take it from this little girl - she approached this concert (which could be a very serious or even somewhat boring event for kids) as an opportunity to show her enthusiasm! (Thank you, Laura Smith, for this video!)
Or catch someone who is bringing the enthusiasm and capitalize on it! Soak it up - enjoy it!
We deserve it! Get out there and have some fun! Your staff will catch the enthusiasm bug and they will pass it along to your students!
Immersing in the enthusiasm will definitely make this the best Monday of the week!
Cheers!
