Transition Plus Nov 5
Welcome to our new home!
A friendly reminder: If you have information that needs to go out to the whole staff, and it can wait until Monday, submit it to be included in the MMM. We are trying to cut down on all staff emails.
Navigating in our New Space
As students navigate their way to our new building, it would be great for them to see a familiar face greeting them at our entrances? Let's give students a warm welcome Monday morning by having staff lined up in the entry space, on Lake street, and of course in our new bus lane.
Monday is going to be an exciting, but perhaps anxious time for some of our students. An immediate, familiar face may be all they need to feel at ease.
As mentioned in the PD it would be great for staff to dress professionally, especially the next two weeks to present to our students an adult environment .
If you have any trash or broken down boxes, please bring them to the loading dock area next to the cafeteria unless you put it out after students leave.
We will continue to share custodial staff with Adult Education a couple of blocks away for the next two weeks until AE moves to the building
Here are some logistics for you to know as you move through the building this week.
- Parking in the ramp will be available for the next 2 weeks only. Stay tuned for more parking information- DO NOT park in the YWCA parking lot without a pass.
- ESP staff, please be sure to punch in - the timecards are in the workspace in the front office.
- Please do not use the large elevator as this will be used to complete the move
- ESP computers for logging and email are in the front office
- Break room is A 321
- Meditation room is A 327
- Due Process room is T303
- Here is the room assignment list this also contains where you will be parking when we get the passes
- Staff can use bathrooms on AE side or the individual stalled bathrooms on floors 1,2 & 3. The bathrooms are currently keyed for you to use your 03 key. We will be working on a solution for non-gender bathroom- until we do please let your students know they can get assistance to get into one of the bathrooms by asking any staff member to let them in.
- If you need 3M products to hang items on the wall please see Traci- do not put any tacks, tape, or nails on the walls.
If you have any additional furniture needs please continue to use the form Daphne provided or email her directly. There is still some furniture that was on back order scheduled to come in the next 2-3 weeks.
The Move
There were a number of people who went above and beyond during the move. Later this week I will be sending out a form for people to log any extra time they put in during the move. On this form it will also ask whether you were present on August 20, October 17 & October 18 as well as whether you worked the afternoon of October 31 after the movie.
Treats from Education Minnesota
On November 5th, as a way to welcome us into our new building Education Minnesota has generously offered to provide some morning goodies - coffee & baked goods in the staff lounge.
Please do not walk around the new building with open cups/ mugs!!!
Let's try to avoid having spills in the new building- if you do, please wipe up if it's a hard surface or notify custodial staff if it's a rug.
E Ticket Building Name
The name of the building that you will choose for submitting an e-ticket is Center for Adult Learning.

Edcamp Fusion will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We're calling it EdCamp Fusion because the volunteers putting it together come from different areas of interest in education and anyone can attend. This will be a FREE open forum for discussions on a wide range of topics and influences on K-12 education.
Edcamp Fusion will be held before the opening events of the #TIES18 Education Technology Conference. If you are interested in staying for lunch and a keynote address by Pernille Ripp (including a 1-hour CEU), register separately here.
