Week of October 16-20
Check Out The Highlights!
Monday-For our fun Monday, we began talking about the color black. We learned our black poem and found words that we know. Great job reading the high frequency words and sight words! We also worked hard on ST Math and moving Jiji through the next puzzles.
Tuesday-We had a wonderful time visiting the Paramount. The play was engaging and exciting for all. Our favorite part included watching the puppet fish swim upstream to complete its goal. When we returned to school we were able to eat lunch in our classroom which was a lot of fun! We also created and read our black book. We are adding all of our school books to our book boxes to read.
Wednesday-During literacy, we were able to read, sort, sequence, and write a sentence about bats. We also worked a lot on rhyming words. During math, we are working on counting, writing, and identifying numbers up to 20. Students are also working on choosing a number and counting on and backward from that number. Feel free to try at home.
Thursday-In Seesaw, we were able to participate in a few literacy activities including sequencing a story and spelling sight words. Everyone also worked hard on beginning sounds and sequencing sentences and spelling color words. In math, we played a fun build it game using a ten frame. We also are focusing on counting on. What a fun and learning-filled day!
Friday-For our fun Friday, we completed a STEM pumpkin project! Students were given a certain number of items to create pumpkins. Check out the creativity below! We also had a lot of fun with our black bat color project with Mrs. Maupin. Students cut and created these bats using different shapes. They are in our room on display.
