Welcome Pandas
Pittsboro Elementary
Welcome Mrs. Sarah Petty - Assistant Principal
Meet our New Guidance Counselor Mrs. Burnette
Hello! My name is Mrs. Burnette and I am excited to begin my first year as the School Counselor at Pittsboro Elementary School. I recently completed a Master’s degree in Counseling at Wake Forest University. North Carolina has always been home to me - I am from Greensboro and went to college at UNC Chapel Hill. After spending the last couple of years in Charlotte, I am excited to be back in the Triangle! In my free time, I enjoy reading a good book and spending time outdoors with my husband and our dog, Zoe. I look forward to meeting you!
Mr. Henderson - Our ISS/Testing Coordinator
Mr. Lutterloh, UNC Principal Intern
Greetings! I am joining the Pittsboro Elementary team this year as an Administrative Intern as part of the Master of School Admin program at UNC-Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Principal Fellows program. I'm a native of Hickory, NC and hold degrees from both UNC and Duke (100% loyal Tar Heel fan). Prior to this internship, I taught high school social studies, most recently at Northwood, along with a stint working in government in DC and Raleigh. I enjoy reading, traveling, and discussing sports, history and politics. I live with my wife Cassie and our new baby Charlie in Pittsboro. I'm a very grateful for the chance to work at PES this year and am looking forward to the experience!
Welcome Miss Christenberry - First Grade Teacher
Hello! I am Ms. Christenberry and I am so excited to meet you. We are going to have a year full off growth, learning and perseverance.
Teaching is my passion in life. I have graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. In addition to this I am endorsed in reading and ESOL instruction. I am dedicated to provide personalized instruction to my students so that they may flourish in their academics.
I am relocating to North Carolina to be closer to my friends and family. I am so excited to be a Pittsboro Panda!
Our New Fourth Grade Teachers
Meet Mrs. Langley - Fourth Grade Team
I so am excited to be a part of Pittsboro Elementary School! My family just moved here in April from Reidsville due to my husband’s job. I have previously taught in Rockingham County for eight and a half years. I have taught first through fourth, and I am excited to be a part of the fourth grade team this year. I graduated from UNCG and I have a lot of experience working with special needs children and adults. I have been an active Special Olympic coach since I was eight, running around and helping my mom coach her team and chasing after basketballs. I come from a family of teachers. I have two little, wide open boys; one is three years old and the other is five. They have taught me more than anything and have definitely made my life more interesting! I also have a dog named “Biggy” whom is three and a half pounds and is the sweetest dog in the world. He spends most of the time hiding from my two boys. Haha. I look forwards to meeting you all and working with the amazing staff at Pittsboro!
Meet Ms. Jacob, Our AIG Teacher
I grew up in Reston, Virginia and first came to North Carolina to attend Guilford College in Greensboro. I taught middle school Language Arts for six years in Fairfax County and then returned to North Carolina to teach AIG in Chatham County. I've taught at several different schools in the county , including teaching part time at Pittsboro Elementary for a few years. I enjoy working with students on "real world" projects that allow them to pursue their interests and to collaborate with each other.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, biking and traveling. I'm excited to join the Pittsboro Elementary School family. I know it is a wonderful place to teach and learn and I can't wait to meet my fellow Pandas!
