Vice-Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are so proud of our amazing students! They continue to demonstrate high levels of engagement and enjoyment in academic learning, character education activities, and extracurricular opportunities led by our very dedicated and caring team of educators. The first four months of school have gone by incredibly fast and here we are at the beginning of the holiday break. We've had a busy fall to say the least; Terry Fox Walk, swimming, field trips to the Grand Theatre, the Queen's Physical Education Centre, Me to We Club activities such as We Scare Hunger, Design Challenges, and a variety of special presentations.
I would like to commend the entire Intermediate division for fundraising $6165.70 for Autism Kingston. Mr. Morrison's class was immersed in a Game Changers Unit that evolved over the last few months into this wonderful fundraising initiative. This proves that we can all be Game Changers. A special thanks to Mr. Morrison and Kelly Stratton for spearheading the Bowlapalloza and Fundraising efforts.
We are fortunate to have so many caring and committed staff members and adult volunteers who offer many, diverse extracurricular and experiential learning opportunities for our students.
Special thanks to:
- Mme. DC for heading our student council. This wonderful group of leaders have helped organize spirit days, our canned food drive that collected the weight of Mr. McDonough and Mr. Morrison combined (wow!), as well as our holiday dance.
- Mrs. Bacon for organizing many of our field trips to provide experiential learning opportunities for our students outside the classroom
- Mr. McDonough and Mrs. Roth, who have been busy providing inquiry opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) that encourage our students to explore their creativity and critical thinking skills through Tech Club and collaborative group design challenges.
- Mr. Morrison and Mrs. McFarlane for continuing to provide athletic opportunities for our students. Most recently, our coaches guided our La Salle Knights through a very successful volleyball season that saw incredible skill development and positive sportsmanship during league and tournament play. It was a fantastic season for La Salle!
Thank you Parents and Guardians, for your continued strong and positive partnerships with our team of Educators. We are all working together to ensure our students are safe, successful and happy at school. Our La Salle Staff Team wish you and your children a wonderful holiday season, filled with good health, happiness and special time spent together.
Yours in Education, Michelle Sousa, Vice- Principal

Inclement Weather Procedures - Winter is coming!
What Happens During Inclement Weather?
- Decisions about cancelling transportation services usually occur very early in the morning of a school day, and are based on the latest information about road conditions and weather forecasts. Therefore, staff is confident that cancellation of transportation services is required in order to ensure the safety and security of our students.
- Bus routes that have been cancelled due to inclement weather are cancelled for the whole day.
- Parents / guardians will be responsible for the return transportation for any student dropped off at school; students need to be picked up by 2:35.
- Remember to notify the school if your child is staying home due to inclement weather.
- Schools remain open in the event of full bus cancellations unless otherwise determined by the Director of Education.
How do I find out if buses are cancelled?
- Visit Tri-Board Student Transportation Services website at www.triboard.on.ca for information and subscribe to their notification of cancellation messages.
- Visit the LDSB website www.limestone.on.ca
- Listen to local radio stations in the a.m.
