Feed My Starving Children
St. Charles North is taking over the entire Aurora permanent facility for a Feed My Starving Children Packing Event on January 26 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
As mentioned before we left for break, as a school, we'll be collecting donation bags to raise money for Feed My Starving Children. The best "bang for our buck" is going to come from textile donations of gently used clothes, linens, and outerwear. We can also take small houseware items and toys. Donations should be separated into bags by type. White trash bags or gigantic 50-gallon black trash bags would work well. All donations can be brought to North's main foyer starting this Friday before school and ending next Thursday, January 16, at 9 AM. You will also be able to get a donation receipt for tax purposes.
If you're planning to donate, or your club/sport is planning to help donate some bags, please share the following page with them so they can pledge bags and get details.

FAQs:
Can I bring in furniture or TVs? We get 20 cents per pound for all textiles and 10 cents per pound for housewares/toys, but only 5 cents per item for big things like furniture and TVs. Because of the storage and transportation difficulties with these large items, especially in relation to the lack of profit, we're going to only accept donations of textiles and small housewares/toys.
Will there be an evening drop off for students who don't want to bring all their donations on the bus? Yes. We'll be accepting donations on the evening for January 15 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM in the main foyer.
Can community members drop off donations? Yes, as long as they follow the guidelines outlined above.
Where are all my donations going? North has partnered with a company in Carol Stream called FUNDrive that works entirely with non-profit organizations.
