Updates and Reminders

Good afternoon Hawk families! It was great seeing so many Hawks at the football game last Friday night cheering on the Rough Riders. We will continue to plan and provide community events throughout the year.

Drop off in the morning is from 7:20 am - 7:45 am. Please do not drop off before 7:20 am.

Leadership Roles

As a Leader in Me school, we continually look for opportunities for students to be leaders. Currently, we have several school-wide roles available. The students have been very excited to turn in their applications.

Just another friendly reminder, if a change needs to made to a dismissal plan for your child(ren), call the office before 2:00 pm. Please do not email teachers or administration with these changes. We cannot guarantee that email will be read before dismissal time.

Parents are asked to assist with dismissal procedures by making certain that children are clear about dismissal plans before they enter school each morning.

Hanawalt Community Notes

Yard Signs and Window Decals For Sale!

Visit hanawaltcommunity.org to order “Home of a Hanawalt Hawk” yard signs and window decals. We’ll be selling them at the Block Party, but have limited supply, so if you order in advance you’ll be sure to get one. You can pick up that night or we can deliver.

Get Plants and Support the School

This year, we'll be offering a variety of fundraising opportunities to allow all Hanawalt families to engage and support the school in ways that make sense and are accessible. Our first fundraiser for 2021-2022 is this Fall Planting Event! Order your bulbs and plants for the Fall through us and the school gets money toward field trips, community events, school projects, and supporting Hanawalt families in need. Feel free to share with friends and family who might also be interested in ordering! Learn more.

Save the Date: Annual Block Party

Make plans to join us Friday, September 17 for our Annual Hanawalt Community Block Party from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the school. Save the date for this fun and free back to school celebration event! We'll have games, activities, and food for the whole family. Visit our website to RSVP or sign up to volunteer.

Other Ways to Support Hanawalt

Hanawalt Community is no longer charging dues because we want every family to know they are a member. However, we still need donations for field trips, events, teacher appreciation, and to support families in need. Donate what you can today.
