A Note from Dr. Miles
Good morning Parents and Guardians!
I hope you had a great weekend! I guess we are off to a wet and chilly week, but we will make the best of it. Our Eagles fall again, but we will continue to encourage them all the way! They will get out of this slump and turn it around. Let's go BIRDS! 🦅🦅
Reminder: The HOLIDAY SHOPPE IS THIS WEEK (12/11-12/15)
Nurse Rhonda needs your HELP! She is in need of small and medium pants as well as boys underwear. If you are looking to get rid of clothing that is too small for your childrening please send them to nurse Rhonda. She will make good use of them. Also, if your child has frequent accidents, please pack extra clothing in their bookbags. We are grateful for what you provide and we thank you in advance!
The weekend was full of the Christmas spirit as Coatesville held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony after a fun day of shopping. Nearly 60 students in the CASD and Collegium were selected to shop with a police officer to purchase gifts for their family and/or themselves. It was awesome to see all municipalities of the school district represented as well as a State Police Trooper; adding to 30+ officers who volunteered their Saturday to spend time with our students. See pics below.
What a super special exhibit of community relations for the Coatesville Police Department Department and families of the CASD! An extra expression of gratitude goes out to Corporal Paul Antonucci who organized the event to bring joy to our students.
CHROMEBOOK COMPUTERS: With the winter months soon upon us, I want to make sure that all students have access to the Chromebooks to take home in case of a snow day or Flexible Instructional Day (FID). Teachers will have their Canvas pages updated with zoom links to continue school day during inclement weather days.
***If your child has STILL not been able to bring their computers home due funding for the insurance of $40, you can still see if you qualify for a waiver by click on the WAIVER link and type all requested information and click submit. If it shows a $0.00 balance, then you qualify for the waiver. If not, click the link above to pay the TIF fee. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the office.
Kind regards,
Dr. Miles

A Special Guest Reader: "The Legend of the Poinsettia"
Mrs. Swisher's first grade class at King's Highway was excited to have a special guest reader, Mrs. Crane, a retired teacher from Coatesville. When she visited, she read the book The Legend of the Poinsettia, which taught the children about Holidays Around the World. The book revealed that the Poinsettia, originating from Mexico and named after Dr. Joel Poinsett carries great cultural importance. Inspired by the story, the students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity by painting their own beautiful Poinsettias.
