The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and Bear Arms, shall not be infringed."


Court case - Second Amendment

District of Columbia v. Heller was a landmark case in which the supreme court of the United States held in a 5-4 decision that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution applies to federal enclaves and protects and protects an individuals right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purpose, such as self-defense within the home.
