Reading Celebrations & Book Talks
Celebrating our reading and growth
We had so much fun celebrating ourselves and other readers with lots of talk and cheers!! We built each other up, and we were pumped to set new goals for ourselves. We realized that not meeting a goal is not a failure, but instead a point of reflection for us.
Book talks have a lot of room for growth for us. We were disappointed that many readers did not complete them. This made our Book Talks & Blow Pops celebration a bit awkward, since we had one small group participating. We hope that we have all readers prepared and ready to participate next time! It is more fun to have everyone celebrating and having great book conversations.
Responding to Texts
Growth
At home: Take some time to look over the responses in your child's binder. We have responded to texts nearly everyday since September. You and your writer should have lots of responses to look at to discuss the progress that has been made. Writing is a challenge, so be certain to celebrate what you notice together!
