News of Note
Floor Waxing and Carpet Cleaning: Please alert us of any support needs following the floor waxing and carpet cleaning. The cleaning company's goal was to clean both floors and carpets. They assured us that IF they didn't finish carpets that they would be back this weekend to finish this. Email lfricke@wcpss.net if you have questions.
Supervision: Be sure to monitor your classes on the playground and other transition times. Be pro-active. For example, if a teacher assistant mentions that your class is not acting appropriately at lunch, research the problem. Eat with the class, observe them from a private location, ask students to tell you of any issues. Avoid whole class consequences unless warranted. Let administrators know if we can be of help.
Data Collection Form and End of Year PDPs: Please complete the Data Collection Form sent out in an email this week, and email to lfricke@wcpss.net by the following dates: Beginning Teachers: Monday, April 10, 2017, Continuing Teachers: Monday, May 1, 2017. IF you have not completed your mid-year PDP, please do so as soon as possible. Teachers should now begin entering information for the end of year PDP so that during the end of year conference both the summary evaluation and the end of year PDP can be completed. If you have questions, please email Mr. Biles or Ms. Fricke.

Updates--NC Budget and HB 13
Please familiarize yourself with the recently proposed Wake County Public School System Budget and Superintendent Jim Merrill’s letter that explains it.
Also of importance is to become familiar the House Bill 13 and its potential affects on the students and staffing of schools in North Carolina, including Pleasant Union. President Rick Childs has posted on the PTA Facebook page a helpful article that explains the bill. He has also posted two videos that explain the potential affects to our students. If you have further questions please contact PTA President Rick Childs rchilds.pue@gmail.com or Principal Kevin Biles kbiles@wcpss.net.
