Gabby Douglas

EARLY LIFE
She was born on Dec 31 1995. She has a mom named Natilie Hawkins and Tim Douglas. She has 3 siblings. When she was 8 years old she started gymnastics. When she was 14 she moved to Iowa to train with Coach Chow. She stayed with the Partons for 4 years in Iowa. Her birth family had to stay in Virginia to finish school.
Olympics
Gabby went to the Olympics in 2012 although she had been training all her life. She competed in all four events. Bars, beam ,floor and vault, even after severly injuring her hamstring! She won the gold metal for the all around. (All around means every event.) And also her team won gold! She became the first African American woman to win the gold metal for the all around.
AFTER OLYMPICS
After the 2012 Olympics, Gabby is still competeing at meets and compotitions. She has also been interviewed on the Ellen show and many other talk shows. She even has a movie and books written about her! She has won many other gold metals in other comps.
