SCRABBLE® for Literacy

a FUN-draiser for Literacy Volunteers of Chenango County

Community members play Scrabble®, raise funds and promote literacy awareness.

Players sign up as a team in a beginner, intermediate, or advanced category and pay a $12 team registration fee. Teams can also get pledges to donate to LVCC. If you do not have a team, you can be assigned to a team on the day of the event, or play solo.

1:10 – 1:25 Announcements & rules of the game

1:25 – 2:15 Round One: Play Scrabble (50 min)

2:15 – 2:25 Break & refreshments

2:25 - 2:40 Round Two: “Individual Team Play”

2:40 – 2:50 Break & team re-assignment

2:50 – 3:40 Round Three: Play Scrabble (50 min)

3:40 – 4:30 Special prize drawings, winners & prizes, closing remarks

What is Literacy Volunteers of Chenango County?

We’re a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to providing services that enable people to achieve personal goals through literacy. We provide free, one-to-one, confidential, learner-centered tutoring to adults seeking help in Basic Literacy or English as a Second Language. We help adults achieve economic, family, and personal goals through literacy.
