Announcements
From Nurse Julie Rice
Dear Families,
The World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, our local Departments of Health and all health care providers recommend PROPER hand washing to protect ourselves, our colleagues and those we love from the transmission of certain microbes which cause illness. Observing students and adults alike washing hands in the Health Room, it is clear that not all of us know how to properly wash our hands or simply do not follow the best procedure for doing so.
This past week and over the course of the next couple of weeks we will be instructing and ensuring all our students can demonstrate proper hand washing technique to protect themselves, classmates, friends and families. Please engage your children in this activity, ask them to show you proper handwashing technique and reinforce the importance of proper handwashing. Additionally, please encourage your family to adhere to healthy habits such as those listed below to protect against the transmission of microbes which can make us sick.
- Wash hands properly and frequently, or use alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue that you toss immediately into a trash receptacle or, with your elbow, then wash your hands.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean and disinfect commonly-touched surfaces frequently.
- Stay home/keep your child home when you/they are sick or feeling unwell.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Please help us with this and do not send your child to school if he or she is not feeling well.
- Remain home/keep your child home until you/they are feeling well, symptoms of illness have resolved and are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Please know we continue to promote the safety, health and wellness of all members of our school community through direct instruction and initiatives promoted perennially by the Health Council such as Fresh Start, Daily Disinfecting and Wiping Wednesday.
Thank you for your consideration and support of our efforts to keep our community healthy.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Julie Rice

Leaving School Early?
Arrival and Dismissal Parking Lot Safety
Please remember to be courteous drivers as you drop off and pick up your students. Use and stay in the marked lanes and drive at a cautious speed. Also, please follow the directions of staff members when leaving the parking lot. The safety and well being of all our students, staff, families, and parishioners are of utmost importance.
People attending 9:00 a.m. daily Mass are finding it particularly challenging to navigate the parking lot when cars entering and leaving our parking lot are not adhering to our traffic flow policies and procedures. Please allow people who are attempting to turn into the parking lot an opportunity to do so.
