Thank you to everyone who helped out with our 2nd annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser! I should know totals sometime later this week, and I will pass that information on to everyone!
I'd also like to thank our terrific parent chaperones at Friday's Marching Band performance! It was especially demanding with an additional 150+ middle school students, but the turn-out was one of the best that we've had, and they sounded great! Thank you, also, to our middle school directors - James Brannock (Glenridge MS), Eric Mendez (Maitland MS), Bryan Munera (Audubon K-8), and Brian Sullivan (Glenridge MS)!

CONCERT ATTIRE ORDERING DEADLINE EXTENDED
The ordering deadline for concert attire has been extended to 6:00 PM on Monday, October 1. Please makes sure that orders are submitted prior to this final deadline. Information can be found HERE. All orders will be shipped at one time approximately one week after the closing date, and items will be distributed to students at school.
HOMECOMING PARADE & ROAR
On Wednesday, October 3, the Marching Band will be performing at the Homecoming "pep rally" - the Roar. This follows the Homecoming parade and is held in Winter Park's "Central Park" area. Because the Marching Band will be performing directly before the "rally" in the parade, and then throughout the "pep rally" itself, there will not be time for them to eat any of the BBQ offered there. However, you are welcome to order a BBQ meal to take home for them to enjoy after we return back to the school. The itinerary can be found on the Band website.
THURSDAY MARCHING BAND REHEARSAL - OCTOBER 4
Just a reminder that, due to the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, October 3, we have a make-up Marching Band rehearsal on Thursday, October 4 from 2:45 PM - 5:00 PM. This is not a new change, but we wanted to make sure that it was on everyone's calendars!
HOME FOOTBALL GAME - HOMECOMING - OCTOBER 5
This coming Friday, October 5 is our Homecoming, and along with our terrific Winter Park Band Alumni, we will be hosting our friends from the Olympia High School Marching Band! See the itinerary below.
POTENTIAL PLAY-OFF GAME
It is looking more and more likely that the Marching Band will have at least one play-off football game added to the schedule - Friday, November 9. There is no way to determine yet if this will be a home or away game, but please add this to your calendars. If you have a pre-existing conflict with that evening, please e-mail both Mr. Blackmer and Mr. Clemente this week.
FALL ORCHESTRA CONCERT - OCTOBER 29
Due to the double-booking the Auditorium on top of the Fall Orchestra Concert, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, it has now been moved to Monday, October 29 at 7:00 PM.
SOLO & ENSEMBLE REGISTRATION
Registration for Solo & Ensemble MPA is now up and available through the Band website. It is never too early to begin forming ensembles and selecting music for S&E MPA. Also, if you are going to prepare a solo for S&E MPA, be sure to lock-down your accompanist immediately! The deadline for S&E MPA registration is Friday, November 9 at 2:30 PM. Also, if you want the Band Program to purchase music for your event, those orders are due no later than Monday, December 3 at 2:30 PM.
FAIR SHARE #3
Our third Band Fair Share payment is due this Wednesday, October 3. This is the final Fair Share payment (for winds & percussion) until March 2019. Always try to make Fair Share payments through SchoolPay.com. Fair Share #4 (for Guard only) is due on Wednesday, November 7.
SCHOOL INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE PAYMENT #1
For those students using a school-owned instrument in the First Semester, this $60 fee is also due this Wednesday, October 3.
Please make sure that we are paying Band Fees in a timely manner! If you have financial constraints that are preventing you from making your Band fee schedule, please contact Mr. Blackmer directly so that arrangements and/or a payment plan can be made. In addition to this, make sure that you are actively participating in our fundraisers. These are specifically created to alleviate our fees, but you need to take advantage of them! If you have questions regarding which fees are due and when, please go to our website for the Financial Obligations PDFs.
