Willow Way’s Theory of Action:

IF we use on-going data to inform instruction and develop learning goals, co-constructing criteria and provide descriptive feedback to scaffold and support learning.

THEN our students will be more engaged and communicate their thinking.

Learning Goal:

Students will be able to communicate their mathematical thinking and learning using mathematical vocabulary.

Success Criteria:

  • Students will use the vocabulary in their subject area to explain what they are currently doing.

  • Students will be able to connect what they are doing to the Learning Goal (curriculum based). (Learning Goals visible in classrooms in all subjects.)

  • Students will be using descriptive feedback to improve their own work.

  • Students will be able to give descriptive feedback to and receive descriptive feedback from their peers.
