Helping Others!!!!

As many of you know September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! This year, Mulberry would like to get involved in supporting Childhood Cancer, by helping out a member in our community, Braden Boozer. Braden is fighting hard and in the middle of some intense treatment. He needs our support more than ever! Although, we wish that fighting cancer was not costly, the sad fact is that it is. His family needs our help to make a difference and lift some of the financial burden of this horrible disease. We are going to begin a month of activities to help out his family and get our community involved. Below is our first activity!!!

On Friday, September 11, we will "Put a Cap on Cancer" Students will bring in one dollar to support Braden Boozer, a local member in our community battling cancer. All money raised will go to the Boozer family! Wear your CAP and show your support! #GoGOLDforaCure!

Grandparent's Lunch Schedule

Remember to fill out the lunch sheet Lorainne sent you last week. You will fill out a sack lunch order on the day you eat in your room (lunches will be delivered). Please also fill out a sheet recording the names of students who are buying lunch in the cafeteria during the Grandparent's Lunch. This allows Lorainne and her staff to only have to get money from Grandparents.

Constitution Day Celebrations

In the spring of 2005, Congress passed legislation requiring educational institutions receiving federal funding to hold educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year (section 111 of Public Law 108-447). GCPS schools should commemorate Constitution Day sometime during the week of September 14- 17, 2015.

There are a variety of organizations that have developed materials to use in planning and conducting programs and activities in your school. The websites listed on the attachment can provide excellent information and resources for your teachers.
