School Library Month
A week long celebration
April is School Library month! HSP Library will be hosting a week of special events from Monday 4/18-Friday 4/22 to celebrate. Each day there will be a different event to celebrate our school library with takeaways, prizes, and giveaways! Events will take place each day during homeroom and all lunch shifts. Get a pass from your homeroom teacher or a lunch pass from the cafeteria to attend.
Monday 4/11-Poetry Make and Take
April is also National Poetry Month. Celebrate with us on Monday by creating one or more original poems at the poetry stations.
Create an original poem from magazine snippings.
A great way to repurpose old book pages.
Paint Chip Poetry
Choose a paint chip color as inspiration. Write your poem directly on the paint chip sample.
Tuesday 4/12-Library Stations
Take in all the library has to offer by visiting one or more library stations:
Wednesday 4/13-No Tech Makerspace
Take advantage of our library makerspace. Craft with duct tape, yarn, paint, and more. Make a scrapbook layout or a card for someone special or try your hand at origami folding.
Thursday 4/14-New Tech Makerspace
Check out some of the new technologies we have added to our Makerspace. Make a motorized drawing machine, try out our new Ozobot mini robot, make a simple circuit or create a 3D drawing with one of our new 3Doodler pens!
Friday 4/15-Lunch, Look, and Listen
Listen to music in the library while you eat your lunch and browse for books. PARCC testing begins Monday and you will want to have a book to read when you finish testing.
While you're here, take your best guess at our "Who's Behind the Book?" contest for a chance to win a prize.
