Never Fading Poppies Project
Hello!
We are so excited to announce that Bedford High school is now participating in a student led non-profit organization called the Never Fading Poppies Project. This project was started in Lexington by a group of students hoping to connect generations through art. They organize events where students have the opportunity to use their creativity to create cards and show appreciation for veterans, and sometimes other public workers. Participating in this work you can gain community service hours as well! Their work has made an impact on veterans, and they now hold branches all over the country. BHS is now one of those branches! For more information, visit https://www.neverfadingpoppies.org/home.
Please join our google classroom through this code: xh7g66e, for information about volunteering guidelines, submissions, and card requirements.
These cards can be made at home, or you can use the materials in A104 on Tuesdays after school, as we will be joining in with the Art Club.
Join us on 11/28/23 in A104 for our first meeting and learn more about NFPP and card requirements.

Career Conversations
Students interested in the field of Video Game Development. Art, Entrepreneurship, Virtual Reality, and Creativity please join us for a Career Conversation with Franco Galetta.
The conversation will take place on Monday December 11th in the LGI from 11:35a - 12:45p
Franco is a creator, artist, and so much more….The following is from his website
“Creative at my core, my work entails telling visual stories, collaborating with and building critical teams to help bring those stories to life. I’ve been very fortunate in my career of 25+ years to have crossed over into varied industries where my professional career originated in TV, broadcast, and film with a focus on motion graphics that spring boarded me into the real-time interactive B2B and video game sectors, along with toy development and mass production. Having worked in multiple disciplines, these experiences allow me to pull from my arsenal of creative solutions. VFX is all-encompassing, and I believe in imploring every facet of the pipeline to achieve the optimal visuals, striking just the right balance of technical and artistic solutions.” Please check out his website: https://francosg.com/projects
This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to turn your passion into a career.
Please complete the following google form so I know how many snacks to provide:

Yearbook Information
December is the last month to guarantee the ability to purchase a yearbook. If you wait longer, there might not be any extra. The reason this happens is that the covers get printed now. The plant can't print move covers in the new year. Thus, we can only sell as many books as covers we have printed. If you can't remember if you ordered a book, go to this link, click continue, scroll to the bottom and click "find your order." To purchase a book, use the same link and click "order a yearbook".
SEEKING PHOTOS:
This year for the yearbook, we are looking for pictures of families who have had multiple generations who have attended BHS. If you are a family who is willing to participate and you gather together in the next month, please consider taking a picture of all the family members who attended BHS (for example it might have your child, your siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles, you and maybe even your parents). You can email the jpeg picture to yearbook@bedfordps.org by January 12th. Please include the names and years of graduation for the people in the photo. We are not sure how many submissions we will get so can't guarantee that every picture will get used but we appreciate your willingness to participate. Please know that the yearbook is not just for families who grew up in Bedford and the book this year is , as always, inclusive. We have the ability to get other pictures of kids at school but for this tiny piece of the yearbook we need to ask families to submit photos. Thank you for your consideration.
Class of 2024
Order your yearbook online by going to YearbookOrderCenter.com and using the school code 13423. All sales will be correctly priced online. If you have difficulty making an online purchase, you can also order over the phone: 1-866-287-3096.

Student Item Drop Off Location
To minimize visitors entering the building this year we have moved the student item drop off location to the vestibule located by the main doors. Please ring the bell and we will let you in. We encourage you to try to meet your student after school for the items but in the event that does not work please leave items on the table right inside the vestibule.
The high school is not responsible for electronics, money, keys, sports equipment, etc. left at the table. Students can check for the item dropped off in between classes and at lunch.
If your student forgot their school iPad please bring that into the main office.
BHSPA
BHSPA Grants for the BHS Community
As part of our mission to contribute to different initiatives, programs, and events that impact the students, faculty, staff, and supporting the community at BHS, the BHSPA has many events that we regularly fund and support. We also invite faculty, student groups, and individuals to submit grant requests for special projects, programs, and tools that will have a positive impact on the BHSPA community. If you have an idea to propose, please download, fill out the application and follow the instructions.
BHSPA Fall Appeal
The BHSPA Fall Appeal is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we can only do it with your help! We are halfway to our fundraising goal of $8,000 and need your donation to help us make this goal! The BHSPA is a caregiver volunteer organization which raises and distributes funds to support the various initiatives, programs, and events for the BHS community. All caregivers are members of the BHSPA. We collect no dues, rather, we solely rely on donations and fundraising. Thank you for supporting BHSPA!
