Propel East Principal Message
We geared up for a week of testing; we are looking forward to OWNing IT as we take our testing protocols and environment seriously. As you know, we play how we practice and the more we rehearse, the more confident our scholars will be in executing on testing days. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the schedule as well as the platforms. Be sure to check your tickets prior to the day of testing. If a scholar needs added, please email the principal team so we can complete the forms to have them added.
We are excited that we have our fundraisers outlined along with our family events. Please check out the dates and fun events along with our fundraisers per grade level linked here.
If you are interested in being part of the substitute volunteer list, please sign up here.
We look forward to an excellent week.
Have a great end to the weekend,
The Principal Team

Expectations to Norm with Teams and Resources
Here are Teacher Facing Slides that can help to prepare educators for CDT testing. (Feedback is welcomed)
How will you hold scholars accountable? Provide a Habit grade for this work time…determine if this Rubric works for your scholars. If not, adjust accordingly.
Here is a Habits of Scholarship Rubric specific to CDT/Writing Benchmark testing. Adjust to fit your grade levels.
Criteria includes the bare basics for each habit.
Encourage and energize scholars to try their best!
Tests are not a necessary evil, we are tested every day throughout our lives in various ways (driving tests, work related-USPS, ASVAB, College- ACT/SAT, Teaching- Praxis/Student Teaching, parenting, etc.).
Testing Signs should be placed on doors.
Voice level should be 0 while you or others are testing.
How do scholars ask questions during testing?
Encourage scholars to use the testing tools in DRC.
Encourage scholars to raise their hands if it would be helpful to have a question read to them (Math and Science).
Practice using the Desmos calculators before testing (4-Function (3-5), Scientific (6-8), Graphing) (HS).
Scratch paper usage expectations set (for this first round).
Restroom use expectations established.
Expectations after testing: read silently.

Go Guardian
Go Guardian: Educators Grades 3-8
Please complete the updated GoGuardian Teacher training available here, by logging in with your Google account. With Chromebook usage increasing, GoGuardian is an amazing tool to keep scholars on task in the classroom, and this training will provide the knowledge needed to properly administer their digital classrooms.
Also, please remember that the GoGuardian Penalty box should be used for any tech violations that are occurring. Please reach out to Harold Robertson if you need to add or remove anyone.Technology
All device issues or damages should be reported through Incident IQ. Damages will be assessed, fixed and a determination will be made if a charge will be issued.
Missing device procedure in the classroom is as follows:
Determine if the device is truly lost/stolen, or if the device is temporarily misplaced.
If the device has been determined to be missing, submit an Incident IQ ticket, recording the scholar name, device number, and the last time it was used. Provide a temporary loaner to the scholar. This device should not go home.
The IT Department will place the device in "Lost Mode" for FIVE days.
If on the SIXTH day the device has still not been located, IT will request an incident report from your school's SRO.
IT will issue a permanent replacement, update inventory trackers, and invoice the family the cost of replacement, $300.

The IXL Snapshot Window will be open starting on September 5 through September 22. All 3-11 Math Scholars should complete the initial diagnostic in their math classes. The snapshot diagnostic can be taken over multiple days. There will be no extensions for the math diagnostic window and it is an expectation that all scholars complete this. We will be using this data to support instruction moving forward. Further guidance will be provided in the future.
As a reminder, K-2 will have their Math Screener in IXL at a later date. Educators will learn how to administer the screener at the September 18 PD.
