Hello and welcome everyone to ACT&SE Region BOAT!
You are receiving this email because we would like to invite you to be part of an amazing Trefoil Group that we have started in the Region.
So what is BOAT? BOAT stands for Between Olave and Trefoil - we are a peer group for those in Guiding that are young (or young at heart) but too old to be an Olave member. Women over 30 are still young and face a range of challenges in their work, social and family lives. BOAT aims to provide a peer group to support adult members of Guiding to face these challenges and to grow in confidence and self-respect, by providing opportunities for personal growth, social networking and, most importantly, fun! We are hoping to not only connect leaders but also those ladies who have drifted away from Guides due to family, work or other obligations.
Ok so down to the nitty gritty...
The group is currently being administrated by Jo Allen (President), Sara Vassallo (Treasurer), and Chrissie Erickson (Secretary). We will be organising events and putting out information regarding what is happening.The plan is to hold one event a month, and members can attend as many or few events as suits them. Upcoming events are outlined bellow so that you can put dates in your diaries, and more details will follow as event get closer.
October 23 - Frocktober Cocktail party (raising money for Ovarian Cancer research)
November 7th-8th - Do It In A Dress Campout (Girl Guide style campout in school dresses to raise awareness and funds for Girls Education in Africa)
December 20th - Family style Christmas Picnic
Our hope is to have events scheduled 3 months in advance to give everyone as much notice as possible. If you have any ideas you would like to see on our program in 2016 please let us know!!!
Cost: If you are already a financial member of Girl Guides Australia BOAT Membership will cost you $15 annually. If you are not a financial member a year membership as a Trefoil member is $45 plus the $15 annual fee.The Annual fee can either be paid by direct deposit or at an event. Some of our events will occur an extra changes which will be outlined with the event information.

You are also invited to use this page to share information and network with other members. We will also be sending out event information via email as we understand not everyone is a prolific Facebook user!
