Holiday Program
The Lincoln Holiday Program will take place on Tuesday, December 19th at 7 PM. The event will be held at the Wheaton Compass Church located at 520 E. Roosevelt Rd. The children have been practicing every day to make this a special event. As in years past, we have included the Top Ten Things You Need to Know About the Holiday Program. Please keep these important things in mind to help the program run smoothly. It is important to note that the doors to the event will open at 6:40 PM, regardless of the weather. Please try to arrive as close to 6:40 as our staff will be arriving at 6:30 PM to set up.
One important reminder is that this event is strictly limited to immediate family. The church seats approximately 1100 and we currently have over 500 hundred students and over 60 staff members. If each student was accompanied by two parents, we will quickly reach maximum capacity as outlined by the fire code. I understand that extended family members would like to be a part of the Holiday Program, but we must respect the fire code. This rule does apply to everyone and I greatly appreciate your compliance with this restriction.
Top Ten Things You Need to Know About the Holiday Program
10. The doors will not open until 6:40 PM regardless of the weather!
9. Students must be at the church no later than 6:50 PM. Kindergarten and First graders will be housed upstairs; Second and third graders will be housed downstairs. Fourth and Fifth graders will sit in the church. Staff will be available to assist students to their locations.
8. Only immediate family should attend due to limited seating. Leave middle schoolers home if they are not going to sit and watch the show. Wandering around the church facility and socializing is prohibited.
7. Parents should keep students’ coats, mittens, etc. There is some room to hang up coats in the church foyer.
6. The program will be held at the Wheaton Compass Church on Roosevelt Road @ 7:00 PM. You may enter through the east or west doors.
5. When finding seats, remember all aisles must be clear of people and objects due to fire code. We also will be using the aisles for classes to enter and exit.
4. There will be opportunities to come forward to take pictures after each grade level performance.
3. Mr. Benjamin Nau, Lincoln parent, will record the show and offer DVDs for sale. This allows parents to sit back and enjoy the show.
2. Kindergarten, First grade, Second grade, and Third grade will come into the church to perform. All students, except Kindergartners, will return to the church for the final sing-along.
