WHHS Library
August/September 2014 Monthly Report
WHHS Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Wade Hampton High School Library is to ensure that students and staff develop critical thinking skills, are effective and ethical users of resources, ideas, and information, and are enthusiastic readers and lifelong learners.
What's New in the WHHS Library?
New Magazines!
Students may now check out magazines overnight. We have updated our magazine subscriptions. Be on the lookout for new titles this fall including American Cheerleader, In Style, J14, Popular Science, Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Twist, and Wired.
New Graphic Novels Section
We moved all of the graphic novels to one place. Watch out for lots of new titles to arrive in October!
More Computer Time for Students
We relocated half of our desktop computers to the computer labs so that teachers have bigger, better labs to use and so that students have better access to computers during the school day.

EasyBib School Edition
WHHS now has a school subscription to EasyBib School Edition. When students create their accounts with the special coupon code (see Mrs. Fansher) they will be able to access great features like:
- Virtual notebooks
- Digital notecards
- Outline creation tool
- A wide variety of research resources
Contact Mrs. Fansher if you would like for her to show your classes how to use this helpful tool!
New Computerized Student Sign in Program
We now have a computerized student sign in program. When a student enters the library on a pass he/she will scan their ID badge, select the teacher who sent them, and indicate their purpose. When that student leaves they will scan their ID badge once more to sign out. This system provides us with an easily searchable record of all library visits.
