May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13)

Dear whānau, tamariki and parishioners,

Can you believe it, we are starting week 6 of the term? The challenge remains for the school to be flexible, adaptable and creative to manage the rest of this term and protect the events we have planned for the children. Currently we working on the Welcome Liturgy (later this week), the Nativity play and the End of Year Mass (with a particular focus on our leaving families - all 23 of you!)

Here's the plans so far:

Welcome Liturgy - invitation only for the new families and the Year 6 children to ensure all new families are welcomed by our community.

Junior Nativity - this will during the school day, and will be live streamed on our facebook page meaning it will be available to view afterward. We have got help from Peter Moir for a zoomed version and extra microphones to ensure the best quality possible.

End of Year Mass - still working on this one. Please pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit!

This morning we began our Advent prayers together via zoom. The first candle of Advent is the candle of hope. These past few months have been challenging for us all, but we always have hope. Our children are the future of our society, and as adults we are called to be 'pedlars in hope' - called to offer optimism for the future. In these uncertain times it is easy to become overwhelmed by fear and division; but we cannot let that happen when we work with such young minds. This week, if you do pray together as a family, include the word 'hope' - we are good today, and we will be better tomorrow.

God bless, kia kaha, Annie

The movie is available to order!

Here is the link for Cinderella Rockerfella for you to put in an order for purchase. Well, we’ve had word from the production team that our movie premiere of Cinderella, Rockerfella is ready for the big screen. So … we’re off to the SBS St James Theatre, Wednesday 1st December. This Premiere and Red Carpet event will include a red carpet welcome complete with paparazzi and crazy fans, red carpet fashion, a complimentary ice cream, and the best seat in the house to watch yourself shine!

Once again, we’re sad that we can’t have family and friends of our stars at this event but we will endeavour to capture the glitz and glam for you to enjoy from the comfort of your phone … children in years 3 - 6 are asked to wear their best ‘red carpet look’ on Wednesday 1st December.

Here's the poster for the premiere for the movie.... wowsers, living our vision statement of "we shine..."

Te kupu o te wiki - the word of the week

The kupu (or word) this week is tamariki, I am sure you have heard this when we have been talking to, or about, our children. Tamariki is children. Tamariki, the reason our school exists.

A reminder

Everyone on site must sign in at the office as part of our usual Health and Safety/child protection policies and Di will get your child for you.
