* Next weekend, Sunday, March 12th, we turn our clocks forward! Spring is on the way!
* Mrs. Badorini will be leaving us on Friday March 10th to begin her maternity leave. Ms. Stucklen will be working as a long-term substitute in the 5/6 classroom during her absence. Mr. Keller will also be coming back temporarily on Mondays to teach STEM through the remainder of the year. Congratulations to Mrs. Badorini and her husband Brad on the arrival of their new baby!
* Vacation Policy Reminder - We are seeing an increase in families planning vacations during regular school days. While we do understand and appreciate a family's decision to vacation during regular school days, please know that our policy has changed, and that we will no longer provide classwork prior the trip. Please take a read of our updated vacation policy that was updated and approved in our school handbook.
Vacations/Planned Absences Make-Up Work: The school calendar provides for extended weekends and week-long vacations throughout the school year. Parents are encouraged to schedule trips or family outings during these times, so as to eliminate the need to interrupt a child’s learning process. If families choose to travel during regular school days, then the teachers will provide all make-up work when a student returns, and they will be given one week to complete it at home. Returning the missed assignments in a timely manner is the responsibility of the student. Assignments not completed and returned by the due date will result in missing grades, which could lower a student’s overall grade. No assignments will be given in anticipation of the vacation. There will be no exceptions to this policy. These days out of school are also considered as unexcused absences.
Planning Ahead:
* Penny-A-Thon 2023 is coming the week of April 3-7th! Start collecting those pennies! All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to PTG and all that they do for our kiddos.
* MCAS 2023: Below are the tentative MCAS testing dates for all students in grades 3-6. All of these dates are on Tuesday & Wednesday. We appreciate everyone making an effort to avoid absences during these dates. Thank you.
ELA - May 2nd - 3rd
Math - May 16th - 17th
