La Costa Meadows Elementary School
Weekly Dolphin Blast
Week of June 4, 2023
We've reached the last week of the school year! Our final three days of the school year will be filled with fun, friendships, and celebration!
Please remember that the last day of school is Wednesday, June 7th and it will be a minimum day. The bell schedule for that day will be as follows:
TK: 8:30 -11:00 AM
Kinder: 8:45 AM - 12:30 PM
1st-5th: 8:45-12:55
As we finish the year and my time at LCM comes to an end, I would like to thank the community for your support and partnership the last four years. Our time together was definitely an adventure thanks to COVID, but the LCM community is second to none and persevered through every twist and turn the pandemic brought with it! I am incredibly grateful for your partnership and support of each and every Dolphin on our campus. I will miss seeing the smiling faces of our students, staff, and families each day and look forward to visiting the campus next year to see all the amazing things the Dolphin community continues to achieve!
With immense gratitude and Dolphin pride always,
Mrs. Bedard

School Site Council Parent Representatives Needed
The School Site Council is an elected group of parents and staff. The primary responsibility of this committee is to review and approve our annual School Improvement Plan, including our School Improvement Budget expenditures. The committee works closely with staff on our continual process of curriculum improvement and the allocation of resources directed towards the improvement of our instructional programs. School Site Council does not deal with fundraising, activities, or facilities. This is a great way to get involved with the school.
The School Site Council is comprised of ten members: five parents (of La Costa Meadows Elementary School students) and five staff members. It meets approximately four to six times per year. Meetings begin at 5:00pm and last approximately one hour. Members serve two year terms. Our first meeting with the new 2023-2024 council will be in late August or Early September.
We currently have three vacancies to fill and are soliciting candidates. If you are interested, please complete the attached form and return it to Mrs. Bedard via email at mandy.bedard@smusd.org by Wednesday, June 7th. Please call 706-290-2121 if you have any questions or need additional information.
