What did enjoy about the book?
This book gives you an entire different perspective of homelessness. James had problems his entire life, but he didn't have control over a lot of them. It was a really good book because it described in detail the struggles of over coming a drug addiction.
Was the ending satisfactory (for fiction)? Why or why not?
The book ended with James recreating his relationships with his family and with him completely ending his relationship with drugs. It was a happy ending and inspired me to be a better person.
Was there an obvious slant or bias in the writing? If so, how did it effect the writing and your understanding of the text?
James showed the perspective of a person living on the streets, instead of the average person witnessing homeless people. It categorized average people into two categories, those who supported James and those who tried to tear him down.
What was the author’s purpose for writing this book?
James wrote this book because he wanted to share the struggles of being homeless and recovering from drugs. It wanted to share with the world how people deserve second chances and how guardian angles come in many shapes and sizes.
