Notes from Dr. Irvin
Your WGHS Weekly eNews for January 5
Hello WGHS Families,
We have passed a milestone in the year--second semester has begun. Whether you have a freshman with greater confidence as they enter a more familiar space or a senior that is running on fumes (or all points in between), we hope they enter each day with hope and belief: Hope and belief that they are gaining clarity in who they are and are becoming, hope and belief that they will be people of impact in the world around them, and hope and belief that Webster Groves High school is a place that moves them forward. My time around our students certainly instills more hope and belief in me that their work as scholars, artisans, and citizens will be for the betterment of our collective future.
We are excited for what lies ahead in the second semester.
Best,
Matt Irvin

Inclement Weather Procedures
'Tis the season for inclement weather to impact school. Please refer to the information below for delayed start and school closing information due to inclement weather.
Communication
Should bad weather or other adverse conditions prompt us to consider closing schools, the District will make a decision as early as possible. Information will be available through the following outlets:
- Phone calls to all families through School Messenger
- Local media: KMOV TV (Channel 4), KSDK TV (Channel 5), KTVI (Channel 2) and KMOX radio (AM 1120)
- District website www.webster.k12.mo.us
- Facebook

Late Start due to Inclement Weather
The Webster Groves School District will consider opening schools with a “late start” on inclement days when roads are expected to be cleared within a few hours. This option would keep children, families and staff off the roads during the busy morning rush hour. A late start would mean that all schools would open one hour and thirty minutes later than their usual start times. A quick breakfast would be available for students. Transportation provided by First Student, the Voluntary Interdistrict Choice Corporation, and ZipCare will be scheduled to pick up students one hour and thirty minutes later than their regular pick up times.
All schools and Adventure Club would close at their regular times.
WGHS Start Time: 9:40 a.m.
Staff Arrival Time: 9:10 a.m.
Student Arrival Time: 9:25 a.m.
Early Dismissal: 12:30 p.m.
All other schools can be found here.
** Late starts will be announced through the same communication outlets listed above **
Late Start Bus Times
With a late start, bus schedules will run one hour and 15 minutes later than the regularly scheduled time.

Did You Know?
Please note that the school is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Recently, lost Airpods are becoming a daily problem. Please encourage your child to leave their Airpods at home! At the very least, please enable location tracking for your Apple devices. It's also helpful to keep serial numbers of all electronic devices available to assist in location tracking/owner identification.
It is also important to note that lockers, as the property of the school, may be searched by school personnel for a reasonable cause.
LOST AND FOUND
“Lost and Found” is maintained in the hallway on the south side of the Cafeteria. To guard your student against loss, please encourage them to:
- not bring items of unusual value to school
- label your possessions with your name and address
- lock your locker
- take reasonable care of your belongings
