Students Need to Bring a Mask to School
Please place an extra mask in their bookbag. This is great for if your child forgets, then they will have a spare with them to use.
E-Learning Days
December 21-22 will be e-learning days. Students will have live learning from staff on their devices and also independent work in their digital portal of Seesaw or Google Classroom. A schedule will come from their teacher prior to these e-learning days.
We will still have school on those Mondays and Tuesdays. However, those days become e-learning days for all Face to Face students and they will be home learning and not on campus on these dates. These are valuable instruction days and we have designed a schedule that gives your child direct zoom teaching time with your teacher and independent learning time as well. Your teachers will send you a schedule for these days.
We must do everything we can to keep our students, staff, and families safe, and the district believes that this two-day shift in learning will help do that.

OGES Family Hub
Because of Covid and not being able to offer any parenting workshops this year, an OGES Family Hub has been created. You can access this hub by clicking on the following link:
https://sites.google.com/lexington1.net/oges-family-hub/home
or go to our school website and clicking on the link there.
Currently on the hub is a link from Mrs. Toste, our math coach, offering advice on how to engage your student by playing some math games! I have also included a video from Coach Shelby giving helpful insights on how to manage stress. Each week I will be sharing more resources from our staff on many various topics!
If there is a topic you want more information on, please let me know! As always, I can be reached at mlewis@lexington1.net or by calling 803-821-0150.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Please keep the school nurse updated .................... (803) 821-0120 wrea@lexington1.net
As we are in these unforeseen times of Covid and entering flu season, we are needing all parents to keep us informed of any signs of sickness in your household.
STUDENT OUT SICK?
If your child is absent from school due to illness, please call or email the school nurse letting us know what is wrong with your child. Please be specific with symptoms such as fever, cough/congestion, sore throat, vomiting, and diarrhea, etc. This will allow us to better keep track of the types of illnesses currently in the school.
ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD SHOWING COVID SYMPTOMS?
Please remember that if your child has a fever or any COVID-like symptoms, he or she will be required to go to the doctor for evaluation. In order to return to school, we will need a doctor’s note stating the student had a COVID test that was negative, the student has an alternative diagnosis and is being treated for that, or remain home in isolation for 10 days.
Also, please let us know if anyone in your household is being tested for COVID or has a positive diagnosis.
Contact the school nurse, Wendy Rea, at (803) 821-0120 or wrea@lexington1.net with any information, questions, or concerns. Thank you for your understanding.
Mission Lexington Helps With Holiday Shopping
Holiday Assistance
December 14 - 17, 9:00-12:00
We will soon open our Holiday Shop for families in need of holiday gifts.
- You must be a resident of Lexington County to receive help from Mission Lexington.
- Social Security Cards for every family member, including children.
- If they are not your biological children, please bring documentation stating that you have custody.
- Assistance is on a first-come, first-served basis, so depending on what number you are, you could experience a long wait time.
- You will be required to fill out basic paperwork and talk with an intake interviewer before you can shop.
- The most important thing to remember is to please be patient as we work hard to serve all of our neighbors. We ask for understanding that there may be longer than usual lines due to high volume.
DUE TO COVID-19, please note the following process:
- When you enter the ML campus, you will be directed where to park.
- Please remain in your car and an ML staff member will start the application process.
- Masks are REQUIRED.
- There will be a wait- bring water and snacks for anyone in your car to make the wait more bearable.
Attendance Guidelines for Parents
Safety Procedures
New procedures are in place to maintain the safety of our students, staff, and parents.
Parents may walk their child/children to the entrance of the school but we ask that you do not enter the building past the front office.
All students are required to wear a mask. If they do not have one, we will provide one for you before you enter the building.
Children will have time throughout the day to clean their hands and also provide mask breaks as we know wearing a mask during the school day will be a new learning experience.
In order to keep our staff and students safe, we are not allowing parents/guardians to deliver lunch or other items during the day.
We will be practicing social distancing in the classroom.
The students will be in one classroom during the day observing the family model. Social distancing will take place as movement occurs in the hallway.
Since we are in the family-style model, we will be eating lunch in our classrooms. We will be unable to accommodate having guests come to school to each lunch with their child or visit the classroom.
All rooms are equipped with hand sanitizer installed on the walls and individual pumps. We ask that everyone use our school provided hand sanitizer.
Plexiglass has been installed for all student desk areas.
