St. Patrick Catholic School
Principal's Weekly Newsletter
DECEMBER 16, 2021
May your holiday be filled with joy and peace! This holiday season we have so many reasons to celebrate. The joint efforts of parents, teachers and staff has given way to a very productive first half of the year. As you have seen in our newsletters, faith, service, and excellence have filled our days together. I am so proud of the students and their accomplishments and my heart is full of thanks for the teachers, staff and parents who continue to go above and beyond to ensure our success!
We are such a special family here at St. Patrick Catholic School! Please keep Mrs. Stone in your prayers as she undergoes surgery to treat her cancer diagnosis. Mrs. Stone will be recovering for a few weeks, and Mrs. Byers will fill in for her after break. Blessings and continued strength to you and your family, Mrs. Stone.
Merry Christmas from all of us and safe travels throughout our Christmas Break. We will see you all back on January 4th!
Blessings,
Lynette Hackett
Principal
FAITH
Our preschool students and our grade 3/4 students shared the meaning of Christmas through their recent program and musical. It is heartwarming to see the joy in their eyes as they share their faith with us.
EXCELLENCE
The Radioactive Radishes FIRST ® LEGO® League Challenge team comprised of eleven 4th-7th graders, competed in the FLL Challenge Qualifier round on Saturday, December 4, at Aldrich Elementary. The Radioactive Radishes worked to solve the problem of reducing transportation of vegetables for school lunches.
The team brought home the FLL Champion's Award which "celebrates a team that embodies the FIRST ® LEGO® League Challenge experience, by fully embracing our Core Values while achieving excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design and the Innovation Project."
SERVICE
We have so many wonderful parent volunteers who give their time for the benefit of our school. Today I want to thank our School Board members for the service they provide us. Their dedication and support play critical roles in the success of our school program.
The Main Event is back for 2022. Our committee has begun securing auction items for our evening of live music and fun at the Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday, Feb. 26. If you have an item or service to donate to the auction, or can secure one, contact Laura Dobson at Ldobson@cfcatholicschool.org or 319-277-6781. What's the Main Event? It's a celebration of our school and a chance to get adults together to celebrate and support our school. It's how we close out our Annual Appeal which we are kicking off this week!
