Virginia
Was founded in Jamestown In 1607 by a group of wealthy London businessmen petitioned King James I for a charter to establish a colony in the New World. Their main religion is Anglican & Baptist. They biased their economy off of tobacco. Originally they had a corporate government but later it turned in to a royal form of government.
Maryland
Maryland was founded in 1634 by Cecilius Calvert, Lord Baltimore's son. They have a proprietary government. The Economy in Maryland is based on Tobacco and cash crops like many of the other colonies in the south. They have different religions in Maryland but mainly it is Catholics, Anglicans, and Baptists. They had an act of toleration where all Christians were welcome to come and worship. Whoever denied the divinity of Jesus was forced to death.
North Carolina
North Carolina was founded in 1653 by the Virginia colonists, But was named in honor of Charles IX of France. Their economy was concentrated on agriculture, focusing in the export of many cash crops including tobacco. Manly the religion in North Carolina is Anglican & Baptists. In the beginning they were a proprietary colony but then changed over to a royal colony after the split of North and South Carolina. The Tuscarora tribe played a big part in North Carolina's history.

South Carolina
The South Carolina colony was founded in 1663 by eight English nobles with a royal charter from King Charles II. they were also considered a proprietary colony. The economy is based on trade with other countries with cash crops. The dominate religions In the South Carolina was Anglican & Baptists. South Carolina was founded by the split of the "Carolina" being that North and South Carolina were combined. That colony was to big to operate effectively as one colony so they split into two colonies. The south was upset with the way they were being treated by the north, so that was another reason they decided to split into two colonies. Also the Savanna tribe was important in the South Carolina and Georgia area.
Georgia
In 1773 James Oglethorpe founded Virginia. It was the last colony to be founded. They based their economy on rice, with big rice plantations. Like many of the other southern colonies their religion was Anglican & Baptists. The form of government in Georgia was a royal charter. The reason Georgia was founded was the protect the Carolina's and other colonies from outsiders and the Spanish that were in Florida. Also Georgia was going to house some of the other colonies prisoners, where they could work and protect the colonies from outsiders/intruders. Prisons in the colonies were often over crowded.
