Moving Files to the Google Drive
Moving to the Google Drive
As we get closer to the summer months and everyone is working hard on wrapping up the school year, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the upcoming conversion to the Google Apps for Education. Now is a good time to start some “spring cleaning” of your computer files. If there are files that you no longer need, you can delete them. For the files that you would like to keep, now’s the time to move your files from your H Drive (or your My Documents folder...wherever you store files on your computer) to the Google Drive. The process is super easy as described below...
It's easy to move your files to your @myoneclay.net Google Drive!!!
- Open up your H Drive (or any folder that you would like to copy over to the Google Drive). Leave it open.
- Open the Chrome browser.
- Go to drive.google.com
- Type in your SDCC @myoneclay.net Google address. The account is in the following format: firstname.lastname@example.org. (Ex: email@example.com)
Type in your password. Your network and Google passwords are now the same. If you cannot login to your Google account with your network password, please contact the Service Desk at 904-529-4832 and they will be happy to assist you.
- You are in your new SDCC Google Drive! Leave it open.
Go back to your H Drive.
Highlight all your files and/or folders from your H Drive (you can hit CTRL+A to select all files) that you want to move to your Google Drive.
- Now “Drag and Drop” your highlighted files over to the Google Drive. Google Drive will now upload all the files/folders you selected.
