PSAT Administration to 10th and 11 Grade Students: The PSAT will be administered to all students in 10th and 11th Grades in school on the morning of Wednesday, October 16th. Students will report to school and take part in the exam in their first period class. The exam is anticipated to last several hours in duration. During this time, all Freshmen will participate in a Career Day exploration with guest speakers across a wide variety of careers. Seniors will participate in a series of college application activities. Please note that this is a regularly scheduled day of school for all students and all students are expected to report to school at the regularly scheduled time of 7:30 AM.
The Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) will be administered in all 10th and 12th grade English classes on October 29. The data gathered in PAYS serve two primary needs. First, the results provide school administrators, state agency directors, legislators and others with critical information concerning the changes in patterns of the use and abuse of harmful substances and behaviors. Second, the survey assesses risk factors that are related to these behaviors and the protective factors that help guard against them. This information allows community leaders to direct prevention resources to areas where they are likely to have the greatest impact. The test will be administered via Chromebooks. Additional information, including procedures to opt-out your child from the survey, will be sent via School Messenger email to parents of all 10th and 12th Grade students.
Handbook Corner:
Remaining After School (Student/Parent Handbook Page 14): Students may not remain after school except for participation in school-related activities such as academics, sports or detention. Students must be under the direct supervision of a teacher or coach. At the conclusion of the period of direct supervision, students are to report directly to the main lobby to await a ride. There is no late bus for transportation. Failure to comply with these procedures will result in the student being placed on disciplinary probation and the revocation of all afterschool privileges.
