Letter to MVSD Families
Mountain View School District
MVSD Letter to Families. 吴孟臻,校董
Dear Mountain View Families,
As we prepare to return from winter break on Wednesday, January 5th, I want to acknowledge the concerns regarding our safe return to school. I am also concerned about the increase in COVID-19 cases and want to assure you that the district is taking every measure to move forward safely.
Mountain View School District has always, and will continue to follow the recommendations and requirements of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) for schools to remain open for in-person learning. All district and school staff working with children are vaccinated. To ensure we are returning to school in the safest manner possible, we will continue to work closely with the LACDPH as decisions are made.
After reviewing the latest LACDPH COVID-19 guidelines, we have determined that we will be able to implement the additional guidelines to reopen for in-person learning safely on Wednesday, January 5th. We believe in-person learning is essential for the academic success and social-emotional well-being of students.
The additional guidelines include:
Requiring all students and adults on campus to wear a mask outdoors, except when eating or drinking.
Requiring all employees to wear a surgical mask
Recommend that all students wear a well-fitting, non-cloth mask with a nose wire and multiple layers of non-woven material.
Recommend that all eligible staff and students receive a booster vaccine.
These measures will be added to our existing health and safety protocols that we have been using since the start of the school year, and are posted on our District Website https://www.mtviewschools.com/.
We have purchased ample supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff and students, including masks and supplies (disinfectant spray, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer). Staff will have these supplies available to them when they arrive on Wednesday.
We also strongly encourage you to sign your child up for bi-weekly testing that takes place at each school site.
You must sign a consent form for each child to participate in bi-weekly testing. This form is in the MVSD AERIES Parent Portal https://mountainviewesd.asp.aeries.net/student/LoginParent.aspx.
Remember to complete the MVSD Daily Health Screener every day. If your child does not feel well or has been exposed to COVID-19 do not send them to school and be sure to notify your child’s school.
As the pandemic continues to evolve, we will continue to respond and adapt quickly in order to keep our schools open in a safe manner. We understand this is a time of uncertainty and concern and we will work through this together to keep our students, families, and staff safe. We appreciate your support and understanding and will continue to keep you updated.
