Student-Centered Math with Google EDU: Hosted by PA Intermediate Units 12, 13, and 15
Location: Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12
Presenter: Chris McCaffrey
During this one day professional learning workshop, participants will explore practices in creating a student-centered, inquiry driven 21st-Century technology enhanced math classroom. Teachers will take on a student role throughout the day and will walk away with dynamic math tools, instructional strategies to improve and highlight student mathematical communication, develop a formative assessment system that supports differentiation and flexible grouping, and an effective means to blend and flip math instruction. Teachers will explore student voice and how students understand more deeply when they can communicate their findings, wonderings, and thoughts through creation. The workshop focus is hands-on to develop a portfolio of strategies and tools for math classroom instruction. The goal is for each participant to complete the workshop with a toolkit of new instruction designs for their math classroom!
Learning objectives for this math teacher workshop include the implementation of:

● Blended & flipped instructional strategies to increase student curation of
mathematical concepts

Student-Centered ELA with Google EDU: Hosted by PA Intermediate Units 12, 13, and 15
Location: Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12

During this one day professional learning workshop, participants will dive in and explore methods to create a student-centered, technology enhanced ELA classroom. Topics include innovation, the SAMR model, formative assessment, tools and resources for struggling readers and writers, student voice, and tools and resources for comprehension and discussion.
As a result of the workshop, participants will be comfortable using:
● Google Classroom, Docs, and Slides to provide feedback during the learning process● Apps and extensions to support struggling learners
● Dynamic tools to increase student engagement,
collaboration, and to create authentic learning experiences
● Various formative assessment tools that can be used to
continually inform instruction.

Certification Boot Camp
Google Educator Level 1 Certification Boot Camp: Hosted by PA Intermediate Units 12, 13, and 15
Location: Capital Area Intermediate Unit 15
Presenter: Rich Kiker
During this two day learning experience, participants will learn the essentials of GSuite for Education with a focus on the skills and techniques needed to complete the online exam to achieve “Google Educator” status. This event will guide participants through various activities and classroom examples using media rich content, responsive instruction techniques, and design labs.
Learning outcomes for this workshop include:
Test preparation for the new Google Educator exam and classroom readiness with Google for Education solutions including:

○ Sites
○ Chrome
