Staff Memo
April 25, 2015
CRES Fest WOW!
Mechelle Brandenberg and Lisa Hundt spent a year collecting donations for the Silent Auction and it looked like it. We had approximately 175 donors with about $25,000 in donations. Although Mechelle doesn't want the limelight, please thank her when you see her.
The Lurton family outdid themselves. Spectacular games, music, dancing, and video coverage were all a part of what they contributed. Thank any Lurton when you see one. Each and every one of them had a part to play in the success of the Fest.
Too many volunteers to count supported in all kinds of ways. This one took a huge village.
And staff, thanks for your Silent Auction memory makers. This is always a highlight for the kids.
Lisa Hundt's extended family was in attendance. We needed to honor Lisa and all the work she did for the Fest. She was texting and asking people to pick things up until almost the end. What an incredible person she was.
As we look forward to next year's Fest, think about the possibilities for Problem-Based Learning and Inquiry. The design cycle is a given when you think of what kids could do to contribute to games, ideas, and posters. Don't let this real life opportunity pass you by.
I am extremely grateful to work in a community that shows the kind of enthusiasm, support, and celebration that the CRES Fest brings. Thanks to each and every person involved in creating such an event.

Kindness Quotes from Wonder - R.J. Palacio
“We carry with us, as human beings, not just the capacity to be kind, but the very choice of kindness.”
“It's what you've done with your time, how you've chosen to spend your days, and whom you've touched this year. That, to me, is the greatest measure of success.”
“One mistake does not define you, Julian. Do you understand me? You must simply act better next time.”
