Class Lists
Just a reminder that today, Monday, August 17 class lists will be posted on our door by 5:00pm. Your child will also be noted as a member of Green or White cohorts that we will be used blended learning.
Elementary Schedules
•Synchronous lessons at least 30 minutes of each block (can be mini-lesson or small group instruction)
••Small-group instruction at least 2 days per week per block
•••Daily check-in for I/E
Blocks will consist of 1 Math, 1 ELA and 1 Science/SS/Content Literacy Block.
Review Block will be a second opportunity for students to meet with the teacher if they need extra support or were unable to join the lesson earlier in blocks 1, 2, and 3.
I/E will be a combination of small group instruction/intervention based on individual/group skills.
*PLEASE NOTE: These scheduled blocks of time include LIVE/Virtual instruction from the teachers, students working independently (on and off the chromebook), small group instruction, one-on-one support, etc. similar to a regular school day that is a balance of teacher directed instruction and student work time. Students will NOT be looking at their devices all day long, but rather intermittently throughout the day for instruction. These schedules are subject to change. During Remote Learning, teachers will have office hours on Fridays to be able to support parents/students each week. These office hours will be communicated during the first few weeks of school from your child's teacher.

Attendance
Even though we will be in a remote learning environment, we are still required to take attendance daily and account for children's whereabouts and participation in school. If your child is sick and will not be able to participate in the day's learning, please call the school at (440) 572 - 7120 and press #2 to report their absence.
Student attendance will be taken during the first 10 minutes of the school day (between 9:00- 9:10). If students are not logged in on the computer and there has been no communication from the family, students will be marked absent.
Attendance will also be checked throughout the day during each of the learning blocks. We realize that some students may not be able to log on for the LIVE instruction and will be accessing the recorded lessons in the evening when parents are available to help, but we still need to account for children's engagement in learning activities each day.
For those students who do not log on LIVE, they will be marked absent for that "block," but upon completion of any work associated with that instruction (whether in the evening or on the weekend) the absence will be changed to "present". For reporting purposes, each week's work is due by Sunday.
Please bare with us as we fine-tune this process during the first few weeks of school. This is all new to all of us and we are doing our best to try to anticipate the best way to address these requirements, but we are all going to have to live and learn as we go for a little bit.
