CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRIES AT SLEC
Dear SLES families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 academic year! As the new school year begins, so too does the program year at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Whether or not you call St. Luke’s your church home, we consider you and your children part of our family and invite you to join us as you wish.
Sunday school classes for children, youth, and adults begin this Sunday! Head over to our Children & Family Ministries (link below) webpage as a window into how we honor and engage children and families within our church community. There you will find class descriptions, notes on how we celebrate milestones, groups for parents, and more. Reach out to me if you would like to learn more or to connect.
As we continue to navigate this season of regathering, please know that we pray for you and your family and pray that God blesses you and yours this year.

Director of Children & Family Ministries

MEET MONICA DUGI, PK4 TEACHER
How long have you worked at SLES? I have had the privilege of working at St. Luke’s off and on for the last seven years.
Tell us about your family. I’m happily married to the man of my dreams, and we are raising my son Christian (12) and my daughter Emily Faith (11).
What university did you attend? I graduated from Texas A&M University (WOOP!) with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have over ten years of experience in teaching, but by far, my best years have been at SLES.
What is your favorite hobby? In my spare time, I love hiking or reading.
What is your favorite book? My favorite book that feeds my soul is the Bible, and I love historical fiction books that feed my adventurous side.
What do you love about working at SLES? The amazing gift of working in a Christian environment. Do you have any pets? We live far on a quiet country farm with our two cows, Jackson and Annie.
What would you share if you could pass on any wisdom to our students? If I could pass on any wisdom to the precious children I teach, it would be that learning is a wonderful ADVENTURE! Have fun exploring!
How does daily chapel affect our students? Being a part of daily chapel at St. Luke’s is a sacred privilege. My students and I look forward to beginning our day by realigning our hearts and minds to Christ. The lessons taught and songs sung give us a glimpse of how much God loves us and how easy it is to have a personal relationship with Him.
