Message from Dr. Burns!
Dear KMS Families,
Dear KMS Families,
It’s June! Everyone is getting ready for the end of the year - so that means we are all working hard to complete final units of study, prepare for final assessments, and finish final projects. We recognize what a challenge it has been to maintain high levels of focus on school work for many of our students, and I am sure seeing the light at the end may make it a bit harder still. With that said, I strongly encourage all parents to check your students' Aspen portal for work completion. Also, please check your email as many of your childrens’ teachers are sending reminders to complete work.
Next week I will be announcing the details about picking up your students' locker contents, dropping off any of the books or materials that your child may have that belong to the school, and about the picking up, repair or dropping off of music instruments during the week of June 22 - 26. Because we need to plan for the arrival of about 750 people and cars, we expect to schedule 4 shifts of 200 people per day, with a make-up day for those who cannot come at the scheduled time. People who will be coming in for musical instruments may pick up/drop off school materials at the same time that Roberts Music and the music teachers will be scheduled to be present.
It’s also time to begin end of the year celebrations - in a manner unlike any in the past!
At the end of this week, on Friday, we will begin the Moving Up celebration for the 2020 Grade 8 students by distributing our KMS 8th Grade lawn signs and student awards! Teachers and other volunteers will be cruising around Bristol and Warren to deliver them to students’ homes. Communications - emails and robo calls will be sent to families this week to let you know about when we will be coming. The whole school will view our virtual Moving Up Ceremony on June 17 at 10:30am via our BWRSD Youtube channel. More information on this big event coming soon. Teachers are also working with their students to come up with fun ways to celebrate during the last week of school.
Speaking of the last week of school, students’ days, Monday June 15 -18 will be half days. Here’s the schedule:
Thank you - all of you. Your daily strength and courage to manage and cope is inspiring.
Have a great week!
Dr. Burns

Student Attendance
Student Attendance:
**A Robo call will go out daily if your student is marked absent in our system- meaning they missed their homeroom check in!
- DAILY: It is CRUCIAL that your child submits their attendance first thing -by 9AM so they can also then get right to their first class (and then not forget to do it later). If they do not check in they will be marked absent.
- Going to be ABSENT? If your student is going to be absent, please call the Attendance office: 245-2010 ext 1
- If your child has consecutive absences with no communication to our office staff then you will receive a check in call from our office staff. Phone calls will come in from a restricted phone number.

BWRSD Online Tech Support for Families
Please continue to email BWRSDTech@BWRSD.org for support during this time of Distance Learning. The email account is accessible 24 hours per day, and you can expect a response within 1 school day. The most common issue for not being able to access apps such as STEMscopes is that they may not be going in through CLEVER or that families need to have students login to the Chrome browser with their BWRSD credentials. Here are directions.
If you have a broken device please email BWRSDTech@bwrsd.org.
