Principal's Message
Dear Hollow Hills Families,
It's Book Fair Week!! Thank you to our amazing PTA for transforming the MPR into an incredibly welcoming book store for our students. Book fair week is filled with opportunities to share the love of reading with our students and empower them to explore and stretch their imagination in our very own Hollow Hills bookstore. I hope you will join us for Books and Breakfast and/or Books and Snacks this week. There are many sweet memories to be made at these events.
The timing for the Book Fair is perfect as our school took part in International Dot Day last week. Although the official day was Friday, September 15th (no school for our students), we celebrated all week with the reading of "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds and then providing students with an opportunity to "Make their Mark" by creating their own dot to contribute to a collective art piece now displayed in the MPR. For those who may not be familiar with the book, "The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe".
Please enjoy our students collective art piece in the MPR this week while you visit the Book Fair.
As we look ahead to this week, we begin to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month. National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th - October 15th. During this time, we honor our students of Hispanic and Latino heritage and celebrate their cultural roots. This is also an opportunity for students of all cultural backgrounds to learn, appreciate and celebrate the Hispanic and Latino cultures.
