RES Staff Update

February 11-15, 2019

Staff Update

Welcome to Brogan Nunez. Brogan recently joined our staff as an instructional para. Please take a moment to introduce yourself and welcome her into your classroom if you are on her schedule. Once we are able, a more permanent schedule will be developed for interventions. Brogan is bringing great experience with her coming from Spectrum of Hope. Welcome, Brogan!

Sadly, Ashley Schneider will be leaving us. Monday will be her last day. Ashley's husband is an active duty member of the military and he is being stationed in Ft. Campbell in Kentucky. Understandably, Ashley will be joining him on this move. Our Pre-K students and the team will miss her dearly. Ashley, we wish you the best and thank you for choosing Robison, even if we could only have you for these six months.

Board Policy Reminder (Tutoring)

“During the school year, an employee shall not privately tutor for pay a student the employee also teaches or serves. An employee shall disclose in writing to his or her immediate supervisor any private tutoring of District students for pay. The employee’s principal or supervisor shall determine if the private tutoring creates a conflict of interest with the proper discharge of the employee’s assigned duties and responsibilities.” (Also, staff tutoring for payment may not use district facilities for tutoring.)

Superintendent's Fun Run & More Jeans Days

The Superintendent's Fun Run will take place on Saturday, March 2. You don't have to actually participate in the run to support this cause--The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. There are various levels of support, and our campus will be recognized for participation, regardless of the level you choose. I am throwing in an extra incentive: If you register for any level of participation, you may wear jeans on Thursdays (March 7 through the end of the year) with a nice shirt. Early registration ends February 13!
Sleep In Pass $10
Student Registration for Run $15
Adult Registration for Run $20
1 Mile Family Run $5

If you would like the easy way to register for the "Sleep In Pass", you can give Sally $10, and she will get you registered. Let's see if we can get as close to 100% participation as possible. If you register on your own, please place a copy of your receipt in Sally's box.

Thank You

  • Thank you to our large group teachers for hosting the glow parties on Friday. The pictures I saw looked like it was a FUN time for the kids. Thank you to everyone for making this year's Boosterthon a success!

K.I.S.S. Lunches

Please be sure to read the Rocket Register carefully about the upcoming K.I.S.S. lunches. On the day that you do NOT have your K.I.S.S. lunch, your students will eat in your classroom. Visitors are only allowed on the K.I.S.S. lunch day. Please help us to communicate this. K.I.S.S. lunches are extended to 40 minutes in order to accommodate the longer than usual lines. Since lunch is longer than 30 minutes on your K.I.S.S. Day, you will need to switch duties during lunch. This will give all teachers a chance to visit with parents.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, February 14

Kinder @ 10:40 am

1st @ 11:35 am

4th @ 12:35 pm

Friday, February 15

2nd @ 11:05 am

3rd @ 1:05 pm

5th @ 12:05 pm

E-track dates have been revised as follows:

February 6 (Wednesday)

February 13 (Wednesday)

February 26 (Tuesday)

March 6 (Wednesday)

March 20 (Wednesday)

I want to give everyone time to look over their lists to make sure all students are included. With being out these last couple of weeks, I'm sure we have some new students to be added and maybe some students who withdrew. Please let me know of any changes that need to be made. I will add all grade level lists to this update; however, I am also emailing the links to you.

Appy Hour

Check out the latest game show for your classroom--Gimkit. This is similar to Kahoot, but better. Students can earn in-game cash by answering questions correctly, and they lose cash for answering incorrectly. The money earned can be used to purchase upgrades and powerups. After each game, Gimkit will generate a report detailing what your class needs help on. Individual reports allow you to help specific students.

You may attend before OR after school on February 12. Thank you to Christi Moran for bringing this exciting PD session to us!
