L15 Vocabulary Quiz Due

今日は水曜日です。

  • Today you will take the Lesson 15 Vocabulary Quiz.
  • Your vocabulary flashcards you made earlier this week are a great study tool for your vocabulary quiz.
  • Keep working with your partner to submit your L15 speaking assignment tomorrow.
  • Work on your Final Project. Try to finish the Lesson 15 slide today.

The long and the short form

Through most of class we've talked about conjugating verbs and adjectives using the long and formal version. This week we're talking about the short form which is more commonly used in less formal situations.


This handy dandy li'l chart below illustrates how the conjugation rules work:

Now that we've got the rules, let's check out some examples:

And here's how we conjugate godan, ichidan and irregular verbs:

How To do a Good!

Remember that the adjective いい (good) is irregular. Here's how to conjugate it to the plain form:

Be sure to attend 2 coaching sessions this week so you can get some practice time in with conjugating these verbs and adjectives to the short form!
