Water, also known as Dihyrdogen Monoxide is one of the most important nutrients that people require.It makes up 70 % of the human body. It helps remove waste, aids in digestion, and helps protect organs joints and tissues. Not to mention being essential to cell life by carrying important nutrients and minerals to them.
Sources of Water
Water is found in watermelon,grapefruit, strawberries, celery, radishes, lettuce and nearly every fruit and vegetable. In fact, a large part of the body's need for water is filled through eating fruits and vegetables.
Interesting facts About Water
There are many interesting things to know about water. For example,The weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat. Also, did you know, by the time a person feels thirsty, his or her body has lost over 1 percent of its total water amount. Furthermore, human blood is over 80% water. Go figure!
Having Too Much or Too Little Water
Though drinking enough water is important,drinking too much can lead to hyponatremia, or water intoxication. This can be deadly because it dilutes the blood of salt, which robs the body of electrolytes. Not enough water will result in dehydration, which causes dry mouth, severe thirst, constipation, and irritability. Severe dehydration can result in death.
