School Walk for Diabetes - UPDATE!!
We are having a “Put a Cap on Diabetes” fundraiser on Friday, April 1st to raise money as a school to donate to the American Diabetes Association. Your student can wear a hat or cap of their choice that day for a donation to the cause. Donations can be brought in any day next week and turned into the classroom teacher.
Don’t forget the School Walk for Diabetes is next week on Saturday, April 2nd from 8am-12pm. It is going to be a lot of fun this year! I hope you will plan to join us and support a great cause. We are raising money to support programs aimed at curing and preventing diabetes, and improving the lives of all those affected by diabetes, including many students and staff in KISD.
You can still register using the envelope that was sent home with your student recently or you can register and pay online. If you register online be sure to choose Florence as your school. Registration envelopes and t-shirt orders should be turned in to Nurse Nelson at Florence. We would love to get everyone registered as soon as possible, however, you can register up until the day of the walk. If you need more forms or envelopes stop by the nurse’s office.
In the spirit of this wellness initiative we will also be promoting healthy habits at school in the month of March including: 5 a day of fruits and vegetables, “Rethink your drink” (Less sugary intake), More outdoor play, less screen time, and Get a good night’s rest each day.
This is going to be a great event that you won’t want to miss! If you have any questions please call Nurse Nelson at 817-744-4720.
School Quality Survey
Dear Parent/Guardians,
Everyone has a voice in in Keller ISD’s ongoing pursuit of educational excellence. Today, I am asking for candid feedback about your school. We want to hear your thoughts on critical school issues, including academic preparation, student support, parent engagement, diversity, school operations and accessibility of school leaders.
This survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. It will be open until April 12. Your answers will be confidential, so please answer honestly. Since we’ll only share the overall results, reports will not identify individuals. No one in the district will know if you participated unless you identify yourself in open-ended comments.
Engaging in an ongoing, two-way dialogue is critical to providing our students with the best possible education. After the survey closes, we will share the findings and specific steps we’re taking as a result of your feedback.
Please click here to participate. (Please do not forward this link. It will only work once. If you have any problems accessing your survey, please email ResearchK12E@k12insight.com.)
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Sincerely,Dr. Randy Reid
Superintendent, Keller ISD
