Message from Principal Loveland
As we near the end of this school year, we also begin our planning for next year. As part of that preparation, I would like to explore ways we can enhance our climate and culture at Wamogo.
Three years ago, a Code of Conduct was created to help guide administration by setting standards for how student discipline is addressed in an effort to ensure consistency and fairness. Please click here to view the document. In the spirit of transparency and collaboration, I would like to invite you to participate in a focus group that will aim to obtain feedback from parents on this process.
I am also engaging students and staff in this same process so that I can be sure to capture the feedback from all stakeholders. There was some confusion that these efforts would lead to changes in school rules or policies, such as dress code. This is not the case. While we are always reflecting on school policies and expectations, the goal of this effort is to address the process for student discipline.
We are looking to keep the focus group session limited to only 15-20 parents. If a larger amount of volunteers exist, I will run multiple sessions over the next two weeks. The first session is planned for Tuesday, May 28 at 5:00 p.m. in the LMC. If you are interested in participating, please RSVP to Mrs. Yarrish at nyarrish@rsd6.org. If you are interested, please indicate whether you can attend Tuesday's session or if you would prefer an alternate date/time.
Thank you for your support and have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Sincerely,
Sabin Loveland
