Reading / Lectura
Students will read to become critical thinkers of the pieces that they are reading in both fiction and non-fiction. We will revisit topics covered in the fiction and non-fiction units, with a focus on reading to analyze text and search for information within the text.
Writing / Escritura
Students are learning to respond to text-dependent questions. Students will review many of the skills learned during the fiction and non-fiction units of study and use those skills to write text evidence-based responses to literature (both fiction and non-fiction). Students will also write essays comparing concepts and ideas found in two pieces of literature.

Mathematicians will continue their journey with exploring fractions! We have already learned how to add and subtract fractions, improper fractions, and mixed fractions. Now, we are moving into multiplying and dividing fractions, improper fractions, and mixed fractions! We want to make sure we continue to review how to simplify (reduce) fractions as well. It is important that we also continue to work with word problems using multiple operations and multiple steps to come to our final solutions.
Science / Ciencia
Scientists are getting to know their bodies in this unit of science! We are literally looking inside of our own bodies to study some of our internal organs and bones that keep us going every single day. We are going to explore the respiratory system, skeletal system, circulatory system, and check out our muscular system. Everything works together to help us survive in the world, literally! We will do some fun activities and lab reports to help us better understand our bodies!
Social Studies / Estudios Sociales

They will learn that the physical characteristics of the Western Hemisphere are very varied, and how the geographic characteristics of the Western Hemisphere affect where people choose to live, the way people earn a living, and their everyday life. They are also going to be able to understand how geography, climate and natural resources affect the way people live and work.
