4th Grade News
Week of Jan. 9th
Play
Today, the students were given their assigned role for the 4th grade play Munchkin Mediation: Conflict Resolution in Oz. We will be sending scripts home later this week for the students to keep at home. Everyone must memorize their lines for the play, please help your child practice at home. We will send out information regarding costumes in a few weeks. We explained to the students that every part in the play is an important one. Everyone has a speaking line and will be participating in songs. We are excited for this year's play, it is a cute one!
Character T-Shirt Tuesday
Tomorrow students will be allowed to wear their character t-shirts along with their school uniform bottoms. Happy Tuesday!
PIZZA FRIDAY!
No need to pack your child lunch on Friday. The fourth grade had the most parent participation at the book fair, and we won a pizza party! Thank you parents for always helping out at school, we appreciate you! We will have pizza and sprite provided.
NO SCHOOL
This is a reminder that classes will not be held on Monday, January 16th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. There will be NO Extended Care on this holiday.
Social Studies
We have traveled back in time to 1585 to the site of the "lost colony" Roanoke. We have explored Jamestown, founded in 1607, and Plymouth founded in 1620. We have taken a close look at the colonies exploring the reasons they were founded, who founded them, and the impact the Native Americans had on the colonies. We will begin breaking the thirteen colonies into three sections and exploring them in depth. We will start with New England, then move to the middle colonies, and end with the southern colonies.
Have a great week!
