Dealey Dragon Update

May 2018

Message from the Principal

Hello Dealey Parents!

We are in the final stretch! Please see the Dealey calendar link below. There are lots of exciting things happening at our school this month.

As we close out the school year, the two most popular questions are: When will we receive our school supply lists? and When will we find out the class placements for next year?

Our school supply lists will be posted on the Dealey website by the beginning of June at www.dallasisd.org/dealey. Class assignment postcards will be sent in early June as well. I know you are excited to learn your class assignment, but please be patient with us as we go through this process. We need to consider many factors when building our classes for the following year and do the best we can to create well-rounded classrooms. Please understand that these two items as well as filling our teacher vacancies will remain a priority before I transition to a new campus.

We are very excited to announce our first round of STAAR scores. 100% of our 5th grade students passed reading and math, while 100% of our 8th grade students passed reading as well. We were so close in 8th grade math! We saw improvements in both grade levels with the number of students who scored at the advanced level. We look forward to announcing more positive results at the end of May.

As we wrap up this last month of school, I would like to thank you for making this year absolutely fantastic. As I mentioned in my letter sent earlier this week, I will miss Dealey tremendously and am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as your leader.

Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

Beverly Lusk
